Eliza + Office Assistant Opening
November 11, 2014
Update: We are so grateful to have filled this position! Stay tuned for more loveliness on the blog in the coming weeks. xo
I've always loved doing anything creative and am constantly looking to learn fun, new skills and techniques. I recently became interested in wedding/event planning and photography is something I've wanted to know more about, so being able to learn about both at the same time seemed perfect!
I've loved every second at UNC-Chapel Hill, but for most of college I was so stuck on the idea of one particular career path that it took until late in my senior year to realize that it wasn't what actually wanted to do anymore. After recognizing that wedding/event planning and management was what I would truly love doing, I decided that I didn't want to spend any more time on something I knew I wasn't passionate about so I switched my major (extremely late in my college career) and haven't looked back!
I have no idea where I'll be in 5 years, but I hope I'll be working somewhere that I love, surrounded by people who inspire and challenge me daily, and living in a place where I can wake up each morning and marvel at God's glory in a beautiful landscape.
Iced vanilla latte - though sometimes I can't resist a frappuccino (basically a milkshake).
Though I love crafts like making jewelry and painting, my very favorite is watching and cheering on the Heels, especially during basketball season!
The people around me. Over the past 4 years at Carolina I have been surrounded by the most extraordinary people, each with incredible and inspiring skills, passions, and dreams.
What have been your favorite things about working in the Blue Barn office?
I've loved getting to learn about a wide variety of things, from arranging pictures for a blog to starting a business. It's been a great opportunity to gain a base knowledge of many aspects of business, photography, and weddings.
Are there any unexpected things you have learned from your time here?
After looking through photographs of a wedding or engagement session, I would feel as if I had both been there and that I was great friends with the couple photographed! It was so cool to see how photography can capture so much more than just an image and truly tell a story.
One of the best parts of working at Blue Barn has been getting to know Rachel. She has such a heart for photography and each person she photographs. Going into the Blue Barn office was always fun and something I looked forward to!
We believe in true love and capturing the sweet beginnings to beautiful marriages! It's a joy to photograph moments that will resonate in your hearts for years & generations to come & it's an honor to document each story.
